Frequently, a project is set as a yearly goal, without a clear definition of the deliverable, and without truly consulting the people directly responsible for the project's implementation. - Products are often rushed to meet self-imposed deadlines, and quality usually suffers. - The engineering team is gradually shrinking, and management seems content. A lot of outsourcing plans. Long-term view for engineers at the division seems a bit bleak, and the morale is not particularly good. - Hard to keep up with market pay if you start out on the lower end of the career ladder. Promotions are often a gamble in terms of availability and amount, even though your managers fully approve. - Promotions for technical roles are not meaningful aside from pay. No clear responsibility/career growth path if you're an engineer.
