Pros

Great brands, tough but enjoyable work environment while in the trade. Pays the bills.

Cons

Good Ole boy system with alot of micro managment. There is no opportunity for advancement at division level. If you don't hunt, golf, or kiss behind, you have no chance to climb the ladder. Years of service and job knowledge mean nothing, and you will be passed up and underpaid by folks who don't know squat about the business.

Pros

Some of the people that worked in the warehouse and production had a better disposition and attitude than the people in the office.

Cons

Higher up managers were phony and didn't want to see you succeed or the people in production succeed. it was a lot of favoritism them and prejudices. The employees really should form an union to have better working conditions and better pay. I know the company don't want that because they will loose control in some cases but at lease it would be some fairness across the board. I think that because they have done so much dirt to others for so long, it has become a way of life there and management don't see anything wrong with hurting people and their families. Of course this is a business, however, there is always room for improvement and I don't think that the executives want to or have the capabilities to change the company dynamics. As long as they are getting their quarterly bonus its no big deal for them. But for the basic worker with no say so they have voice in anything and no one seems to care. The other problem is that if there are people with better ideas to improve the conditions, they are shot down for doing it because it may not be the conventional way. Other companies treat their employees very well and care. I personally didn't see that. Yet the workers still kept their dignity and did their jobs despite how they were treated.

Pros

I got plenty of hours. Workdays weren't all that stressful. There isn't a boss looking over your shoulder all day, you are pretty free to work at your own pace.

Cons

They never let me have days off. Waking up everyday at 4 a.m. and then working for about 10 hrs/day was pretty awful. I never had free time and as soon as I got off work I wanted to go straight to bed. I had to drive my own car from store to store and I would end up putting thousands and thousands of miles on my car every month. They pay you like 55 cents a mile which pays for your gas but then you have to think about all the miles you are putting on your car and making the car value go down along with wearing out tires and what not.
