Pros

Used to be the best company to work for but there arent any Pros anymore

Cons

They took away all the great employee perks like the annual block party, Holiday party, and the cool contests, prizes, and swag. Pay cuts for no valid reason. Micro-managing EVERYTHING! Ascentis is the worst thing ever created. It feels like we are being punished to go to work. Even if you shattered your quota every month they still nit pick stupid little things and dont give you credit when credit is due. Since Chris Friedland left it's been an absolute downward spiral. It doesnt feel like upper management cares about its employees. It feels like no one takes responsibility for their actions, they just push the blame to someone else. If you go to someone telling them that their multi-billion dollars business's website needs to be fixed they say "Oh sorry thats not up to me that someone elses thing" and then when you go to that person they make some excuse as to why they havent fixed it yet when in reality its because they are lazy and the way the company is structured they dont care about making the website better and more user friendly they just care about hitting their quotas. The whole company is in a very bad way and company morale is at the lowest I have ever seen it. Everyone knows that management has screwed everything up and that all the employees hate working here, but none of them care. They only care about their paychecks.

Pros

Decent compensation, good benefits, some training classes offered.

Cons

I read an article not long ago that perfectly described my experience working for this company. Build.com "is a workplace culture that encourages fraternal “old boy networks” that inclusively support and encourage networking with fellow males and while at the same time, block female employees from participating in the male-dominated decision-making circles. Bro culture supports the exclusion of women to foster and support values that maintain “the way we always done things around here.” This adage is often actualized as a barrier that rejects difference to maintain the comfortable “company way” of conducting business". You want to talk about politics in a corporate office? This place has got it. I've seen way too many good people (genuinely good, hard-working people) get mistreated here. Nobody wants to speak up because of fear of losing their job and unfortunately it's cultivated an uncomfortable workplace environment. The feeling of anonymity, irrelevance and immeasurement has truly classified this company as a miserable place to work.
