Toxic Leadership

Pros

- remote work available - decent pay - good benefits

Cons

- leadership lacks direction - lack of guidance and mentorship - leadership is cold and disingenuous - my direct lead was overly reactive and unsupportive - misalignment across orgs leading to confusion and unnecessary friction (ie: engineering, design, and product having conflicting goals)

The people you work with

Cons

1. Payment structure - Bring in $12,000 deals to get a 100$ bonus 2. No work from home 3. Goals are always too high 4. Constant change with your paycheck on the line but always being told "well make it right" 5. No room for new career opportunities

Pros

Free drinks, bar opens up at 4, they typically have food, culture is great and everyone wants you to succeed. If you dont mind a bunch of cold calling (about 22 every hour) and you are good at it, this could be an amazing place. But if you don't perform you will get put on a PIP (which to be fair that will happen at any job, but in this case it doesnt matter if you have been there for 3 years or 3 months, if you dont get people to buy then you are out)

Cons

The Job itself.... It's a fine job but i have a hard time putting it in the Pros section. It is a good starter job. The goal is to make 165 calls a day and even then you will still be told to make more calls. The average call is calling a contractor that's up on a roof or mixing concrete and wants nothing to do with the software. You get your teeth kicked in sometimes but honestly for a starter job its good to learn how to handle rejection and try and find why they are saying no, The training is like 2-3 weeks long and after that you are on the phones. If you are there for over 3 quarters, you are considered a veteran because the retention rate is super low. Not a job you would want to make your next carrier move to.
