Pros

Bullhorn has been one of the best career decisions I’ve made. The company took a chance on me, and in return, I got to work with smart people, learn from great leaders, and grow into a more confident and capable salesperson. I’ve had opportunities I never expected travel, exposure to different markets, and the kind of autonomy that really lets you figure out who you are professionally. The culture rewards effort and curiosity, and the people make it easy to stay motivated. Like any company, there were challenging moments, but I never once questioned the integrity or intent of the business or its leadership. It’s a good place run by good people who genuinely care about both the work and the team. I’m leaving on great terms and with a lot of respect. Bullhorn helped shape my career in a big way, and I’m really proud to have been part of it.

We're going to miss you!!! However, this is a great success story on both sides - we know our role is to prepare our folks for their next chapter, and sometimes that means outside the company! We'll be cheering you on as well, and I can only hope that maybe you'll boomerang back at some point! Go do big things! - Kelley

Pros

• I loved my team – my manager was very hands-off, and there was a lot of psychological safety within the team. • The health insurance was affordable. • Unlimited PTO (sort of – see Cons) • I met people whom I still talk to outside of work to this day.

Cons

• The obsession with the "path to a billion". Once that started, the culture that set Bullhorn apart slowly began to vanish. • The pay is low. I left for a position with a lower title and less responsibility, but the starting salary was 11.5% higher than my salary at BH. • I wound up on some list about taking "excessive" PTO. I was a 10/10 employee and got the highest marks for multiple years in a row. If my PTO was not negatively affecting my work quality and my team, then it shouldn't have been an issue. And if it bothers the company so much, then frontload a set amount of PTO. But that's not as appealing to prospects, and then they'd have to pay out unused time.

Thanks for taking a few minutes to leave a review of your time here. I'm happy to see that you met lifelong contacts/friends here, that you took advantage of our terrific benefit plans, and most important, that you had an environment that you could do your best work! I also appreciate your feedback on areas that didn't meet your expectations. I do want to comment on the PTO piece. Every year, mid way through the year, we run a report to check in on PTO with a number of lenses - who is tracking it or not, who hasn't taken very much at all, and who has some high amounts YTD. It's not just looking for abuse, but to flag issues (employees with personal issues we didn't know about that HR can better support), folks not taking enough time off, management not monitoring or tracking, etc. I'm not sure how this was worded back to you, but it sounds like the message got lost in translation. An employee who has taken an extreme amount of time off half way through the year, and who is still performing exceptionally in their job is not the issue - to me, that's a management issue - like does this person have the right goals? Are they in the wrong role? Could they be adding value in another role/promotion/etc? The intent is not punative, it's to be sure that our managers are managing their teams and their workloads appropriately - on both sides. It appears it came off otherwise to you. If you ever want to connect - you know where to find me. :) I wish you the best of success in your new role!! - Kelley Morse, CPO
