Horrid New Culture & Management

Pros

- Remote Work - Some departments are better to work in than others

Cons

- Company scares you so that you do not provide them negative feedback. Negative comments and feedback are filtered and hidden. Please, Bullhorn, tell the truth. - There is a culture here where if an employee does not know the answer to your questions, they will make something up or just ignore you all together. - Managers and directors in some departments are very sexist. We are in 2023, folks, please get with the times. These individuals have no oversight. They get away with everything whilst employees under them suffer quietly. - Extremely hostile work environment WITH (subtle) retaliation. Bringing solid constructive feedback to your manager will result in toxic meetings and follow ups. - Managers pretend to be on your side, but then sabotage you by giving you something different to focus on. In turn, when you inevitably fail at the difficult task they gave you, they take stabs at your personality and mentally beat you down. - Most importantly, company does NOT accept and accommodate neurodivergence in the workplace. In fact, this was used against me and that was extremely inappropriate. In conclusion, I've developed a great deal of self-hate from this horrible experience. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone else. Please stay clear of Bullhorn. It will look like sunshine and rainbows at first, but it is just a mirage for the sexist and hostile environment that is truly behind the scenes. I can confidently say that I will never suggest anyone be employed here.

We have two primary avenues for our employees to provide feedback. Our formal processes are our engagement and pulse surveys, which take place in the spring and fall. We share both positive and constructive feedback from these surveys during our townhalls, because the voices of our employees matter and we rely on your feedback to drive improvements within our organization. Additionally, every single comment is read a number of times by numerous levels of leadership, and where concerns are raised, we investigate as appropriate. We know that no place of employment is perfect but we have always been committed to providing an incredible experience for both our employees and our customers. Secondly, every employee is also encouraged to connect with ANY leader informally, at any time, if they need additional support - and I'm at the top of that list. So it's disheartening to hear this feedback for the first time in this way. Let me be clear - hostility, discrimination and retaliation are not tolerated here, period. What you raised here is serious, but very difficult for me to look into without further context. I also want to say that mental health and well-being is very much part of our culture here at Bullhorn. Each year, we engage in mental health awareness month as an organization with formal, companywide events. We've had speaker sessions, created a learning & development course on the topic of neurodiversity, and many of our people leaders have been trained in mental health safety. All of these initiatives have been done to support our employees' sense of belonging, so I'm really sorry to hear there's a disconnect here for you. We would love an opportunity to learn more about your experience directly and help support you. Please connect with me directly. - Kelley Morse, Chief People Officer

Most peers are fairly nice.

Total cluster! I completely agree with the May 11, 2018 review and the August 28-31 reviews of Tier 1.

You clearly have strong opinions, but there isn’t anything here in terms of solutions to help us take action. Glassdoor is one forum for us to understand what’s working and what isn’t. As a former employee, your perspective is beneficial; please reach out to me: s.greenwell@bullhorn.com.

Talented Teams, but Compensation is Driving Turnover

Pros

Bullhorn has genuinely great people. The culture at the team level is collaborative, supportive, and full of smart, capable individuals who care about doing good work. The product itself is strong in many areas and continues to provide real value to clients.

Cons

Compensation is increasingly out of step with both the market and the expectations placed on employees. Annual raises and promotion increases fail to keep pace with inflation or market rates, making it difficult to view long-term growth as sustainable. Recent organizational changes have also led to a loss of institutional knowledge in key areas. As experienced leaders and long-tenured employees exit, gaps in product understanding and historical context are becoming more noticeable, impacting both execution and decision-making. There is also a largely unspoken expectation of extended hours and unpaid overtime to meet performance goals, which contributes to ongoing burnout. While layoffs may have aligned the business to current needs, they were implemented in a way that left gaps in both expertise and delivery capacity, placing additional strain on remaining team members.

Hi - I cannot tell you we care about our employees, (we definitely do), I can only show our employees through our actions. And clearly, we're missing that mark for you. I can't tell what function you are in based on your review, but I would love to meet confidentially so I can understand more. Non salaried roles cannot work unpaid overtime, so if that's happening somewhere, I will address it for sure. I'd love to meet and since you're an employee, please grab time on my calendar! Let's work together here! - Kelley Morse, CPO
