Pros

• Interesting Product • High turnover leads to good network of ex-employees

Cons

Work life balance is nearly non-existent for some in Dev. There are many smart, borderline obsessive developers who don't need sleep and don't understand why you do. As previous reviews described Bullhorn has earned a reputation within the industry for treating people badly. People are completely disposable. They burn some people out and put up with too much bullying and nonsense that pushes others out. If you look through all these reviews, you'll see a cycle in which there are a number of reviews highlighting these issues, and then a batch of newbies who talk about the “great culture." Upper management turns a blind eye when people get screwed over, and then hire a new batch and get them to write reviews while they're still drinking the kool-aid. I think Bullhorn considers the excitement to be the "culture," but if your churning and burning employees instead of dealing with the factors that make people unhappy then *that's* your actual culture.

It sounds like you had a really bad experience and I'm truly sorry to hear that. I wanted to respond to your advice for management. You mentioned 360 reviews. We conduct 360 reviews for everyone who has direct reports every 6 months. My whole team is included in that process and we receive invaluable feedback. We also look very closely at our employee engagement scores, which we review every quarter. While we're not perfect, we still have very high employee engagement. That said, if there's a problem specific to a manager, or an office, we need to know. We've nearly doubled in the last 12 months, so it wouldn't surprise me at all to hear we've got a problem somewhere that needs attention. I'd really like to know what's driving your comments. Would you be willing to talk? My email is art at bullhorn dot com?

Pros

Awesome co workers. Flexible schedule.

Cons

High turnover. Managers fail to communicate effectively with their teams. People often just "disappear" with no explanation

We've focused our talent acquisition team on bringing more women to Bullhorn. So far, over 35% of our hires in 2018 have been women. While we are making progress we are not declaring victory. We promote between 5 and 10% of our employees every quarter; if we have overlooked someone, please let me know at kcastelda@bullhorn.com.

Pros

The work is challenging and interesting. People are incredibly helpful to each other. While Bullhorn's male leaders outnumber the female leaders, I see the company actively working on unconscious bias and other factors that can cause a good company to build a wall that blocks people instead of a bridge that welcomes. I read an earlier post about women only getting promoted if they wear makeup and dont wear hoodies. That is not an accurate depiction. Look at support supervisors, trainers, managers, etc. You will find women who wear hoodies and no makeup, women who regularly wear makeup and business apparel, women who go back and forth between these options. What they all have in common is they worked hard to hone their skillset to get where they are. At Bullhorn you see an amazing group of women lifting up other women through networking, mentoring, and collaborating.

Cons

As at every company, there is work to be done to improve the experience so all employees find the work life balance they seek. The tier 1 support experience is not the most pleasant when there is so much work and not enough hands to do it timely. Almost a dozen people got promoted from tier 1 at the same time, leaving a hole in the tier 1 workforce. Other companies might have chosen to pick up their higher level employees from outside the company so the front line support workload remained stable. Bullhorn promoted from within at every opportunity that an internal person has the skillset and professional readiness to be promoted. While that is a great practice, is difficult for tier 1 to be happy in work/life balance when they dont have enough hands lifting the load.
