Your con is one that I know a lot of us struggle with, especially when there's so much to be done and we care so much about the work that we're doing. I encourage you to talk to your leader about ways to better balance and "unplug" to refresh.

Good people, bad work/life balance

Pros

The people really are great. I've enjoyed working with just about everyone at Bullhorn, both within and outside of my department. Everyone works hard and is invested in their jobs. I think this is the product of good hiring by HR and the overall social nature of the company (e.g. "First Thursday" where the company pays for drinks at a local bar once per month). The office is really cool, too.

Cons

There's an unspoken expectation that you will be available all the time, and chances are your boss and colleagues work late frequently. I'm constantly checking my phone for emails or IMs from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed. It also seems like it's getting more difficult to move within the company. People get "promoted" but these promotions seem to frequently be slight title changes for the sake of claiming promotion.

There's a ton of solid feedback in this review; thank you!! We all work very hard. However, it is not our expectation that you are required to be available at all times outside of work hours. I encourage you to talk with your manager about his/her expectations when you aren't working. Discuss your perception, establish work boundaries, and take advantage of our unlimited vacation policy for truly unplugged and recharging days. Promotions take many forms - getting a new title and compensation increase once you've achieved a level of success in your existing role, and/or taking a new role with a ton of new responsibility. If you feel you're being overlooked for either, please reach out to HR and let us know.

Pros

- Amazing culture - Incredible benefits & perks (unlimited PTO, catered breakfast and lunch once per week, excellent insurance offerings) - Unlimited career growth opportunities

Cons

Bullhorn is fast growing company that is an amazing place to work. I do not see any cons to working here. Culture fit is the key that I would encourage any candidate to consider. Specifically, if you want a repetitive, non-challenging role, then this is not the place for you. If you are committed to growing and have a passion for delivering incredible customer experiences, then this could be a wonderful place to grow your career.
