Not an incredible experience anymore

Pros

Fully remote, no office environment or team culture whatsoever. It really has become a “log on-do work-peace out” type of place. To future candidates, I would not rely on reviews from prior to 2020 for company culture as they really represent Bullhorn as an in office company.

Cons

Compensation is low and it feeds an immature culture. The company slowly became toxic during, coincidentally, a massive period of growth. Star players and experts were consistently ignored, or had their concerns downplayed for years, in defense of growth and market strategy that ultimately landed the company in the precarious financial position it found itself in 2023, resulting in layoffs. Senior management and execs fueled this internally by stretching these same stars/experts to the absolute extreme of human physical and mental limits, especially starting in the beginning of COVID. The Great Resignation brought on a massive slate of highly paid go-getters who found themselves trapped in a world dominated by native knowledge and the same handfuls of experts. They were hired to meet the next stage of growth and found their blockers were the same 5-10 year old problems the old timers had been raising as concerns since long ago. My first 8-9 years were marked by a youthful sense of exuberance and collaboration. The last 3-4 years was marked by selfishness, dishonesty, and resentment. As a note to Bullhorn leaders, who sometimes comment on these reviews, please know that I raised each and all of my concerns with both my leaders and HR. The response was unanimous: if that’s how you feel, leave. This was said to my face by both parties, as a highly performing employee for over 10 years. It was how I knew all the toxicity I was feeling was actually real.
