Pros
1. The associates are great to work with. I have made some great friends here. 2. The employee discount is decent enough along with our low prices. 3. Can't think of anything else...
Cons
1. The amount of favoritism at this store is astounding, I can't believe how the upper management can get away with this kind of work ethic. All of the associates work hard with only the "Favorites" getting credit. while the others get critisized for the same workload. 2. The management team never has the right hand talking to the left. I've never seen a company that can not communicate like this one. 3. There is hardly any associates on the floor. If a customer needs help they're stuck waiting for a long time, and at the cash registers it's just a mess with the 2 people scheduelled for the rushes. 4. The customer base is atroachous. "The customer realy is always right"... as long as they pitch a big enough fit about it. Our corporate policies have been compromised to the extreame for the smallest problems that could have been dealt with through good customer service, and our district office shows no support to the associates in times like this. They always come back to us with genaric responses on how it was our fault that the customer was displeased even when we followed everything by the book. 5. The condition of the building itself is one of the poorest I've ever seen. Literally, you cant walk down a single isle of the store with out seeing duct tape on the carpet covering the rips and snags, even the tile has duct tape covering the cracks and "pot holes" everywhere. The carpet has not been cleaned in years, and the shopping carts are all rusted out. The rest rooms are in horable condition and even with multipule air freshners the smell won't go away. Also the set up of the store makes it look alot like a second hand store because of the lack of organization. 6. The cash register cubes are extreamly out dated and the equipment crashes constantly. When an order to fix the problem gets put in, it usually takes months upon months to have anything done about it and usually only half of the problem gets worked on. 7. The way that associate of the month is chosen is not bassed on hard work and effort, but by a raffle that is more times than not rigged for a "favorite" to win. 8. The amount of theft that goes on in the store is at an all time high with little or no support from management and lp. we are constantly asking them "are you going to do something about this?" but the responce is always "I didn't see them take anything" and management can not do anything. 9. Many times I have seen upper management so confused about what their job is. This is probably is caused form the 70-80 hours that they are requierd to work to get things done with no help from the associates becaust there is none to help. Meanwhile departments are uncovered for days at a time. 10. Management are always quick to throw the nearest person (including eachother) under the bus, and never stand up for the associates to the corporate office (including the favorites). 11. Work is to be considered most important above time with family. If a time off request is submitted it is usually denied and if your availability changes you will be punnished with massive cuts in hours. 12. If an associate needs to be repremanded, he or she is usually repremanded in front of other associates and customers. 13. Morale is the lowest I've ever seen at any store, anywhere. The list can go on for hours but I'm sure you get the point. I'm not saying that it''s like this at all stores. I'm just familar with this one and the problems that are ongoing with no forseeable change.
