Pros
There are really good people here. They might be the only reason you stay, but that is a double edged sword as well. The theme amongst most is the people.
Cons
1. Internal promotions. Forget about these. This company will identify your worth early on and if you are a top performer, it isn’t uncommon to see them gate-keep you from better opportunities. 2. Pay. The saying goes, “pay people what they’re worth or they’ll find it elsewhere” is symbolically true of this company. Businessolver does not pay their employees competitively according to market or tech industry standards. This includes promoting upwards. You will be met with frustrations and insulted by how little they’re willing to give even with other offers to leverage. Pay is one of the biggest issues for retention. 3. Burnout. This company cares about its bottom line. You will become a number and when you do, you will meet burnout at aggressive and startling rates. This is especially the case before, during, and after annual enrollment. Businessolver employs global services and manages it terribly resulting in terrible situations having to abruptly be handled by onshore. 4. “MyTime” is this idea of offering unlimited PTO for salaried employees. This variably changes from department to department. Your time off will be scrutinized and because of workforce planning and a lack of support, you will be burned out in addition to lack of time off opportunities. 5. Politics. This outwardly progressive facing company is nothing more than a sham. They talk big but don’t follow through. For example, DEI is a checkbox for them, not a cultural pillar. True leadership across the organization is represented by many women in the organization but only a extremely small group of colored individuals sit in leadership which lends to a degree of tokenism. 6. Cult. Unless you are favored or part of this “inner circle”, then you will find it hard to move forward in meaningful ways in personal and professional realms. Some stay for the show while others are so incredibly ignorant they don’t see how bad they’re treated because their self worth is taken advantage of.
