Pros

1. I love my supportive peers, BCBAs and managers. The culture is amazing so far. 2. I am appreciated in this company and was given a chance to show my capabilities early on. 3. Decent pay for CV location. 4. BCBA hours accrual towards certification 5. BCAT certification/ FIT training modules 6. Monthly group supervision

Cons

1. The hourly rate could be higher. 2. I'd love for BE to have a center-based program and mock preschool for the kiddos. It will open a lot of morning clients since the parents could just drop them off and not worry about cancelations. 3. More in house training for aggressive clients.

Pros

Sometimes get your clinical rate which is decent pay

Cons

Literally everything, including working large amounts of unpaid hours and being treated like complete garbage every day. Will make you so depressed you can hardly function and will continuously lie to you about every aspect of the job. Only apply here if you like being lied to about job descriptions and like being told things like the company culture is changing for the better. No one who claims that is honest

Our job descriptions detail whether positions are full-time; part-time; exempt or non-exempt; and we respect the decisions of employees who wish to seek full-time employment markets. All employees with compensation concerns are encouraged to contact our VP of Human Resources for resolution.

Purposeful Work (But Sometimes Isolating)

Pros

It is a rewarding job. Seeing the kids grow and learn is a definite highlight of the job. You get to leave work feeling like you have served a beautiful purpose! The starting pay is decent as well and there are opportunities to get a raise. If you are able to recommend someone to the job they also offer referral bonuses. The BCBAs that I worked with were all very friendly and seemed to care a lot about the kids we worked with.

Cons

ABA, while very rewarding, can be a difficult field especially when working in homes. With in-home therapy, you often don't have contact with co-workers and have minimal contact with supervisors. It can be a little isolating at times. It can be easy to get stressed out and even burned out in this field without the proper support systems. That is why having systems of support (such as mentoring, available stress management resources, frequent "check-ins" by supervisors, team meetings, etc) for techs is so important. I do think BE is definitely working toward providing better support for techs working in the field and I had seen a lot of positive growth during my time there. This "con" is more of an encouragement to keep working toward that goal of providing techs with support and resources to help manage stress and avoid isolation and burn out. It is an area that can always get better and I think BE has really begun to plan and implement strategies to get there.
