Pros

For the branches I worked at (Gaithersburg, Germantown & Olney, MD), the staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, there are a lot of teaching resources in the offices to help tutor the students we worked with.

Cons

The pay is ok, as often people charge much more for private tutoring. Sometimes having three students at a time can be tiring for 2 hour sessions.

As far as tutoring gigs go, it's not bad.

Pros

The schedule is pretty flexible and the centers have a lot of teaching materials available. Hours are generally pretty flexible, although some times you're limited by when students show up.

Cons

The hours are all nights and weekends, but that's the nature of tutoring. Most sessions you have to work with three students at a time which can be a challenge and limit your ability to help a student work through a problem.
