-The experience can vary from center to center, depending on the personality and style of the center director.
-The 3-1 ratio isn't great. You really cannot provide tailored individualized tutoring to 3 different students at once. It's overwhelming and you feel like your short-changing students.
-The curriculum is dull and badly organized, and the materials aren't great (faulty answer keys, etc).
-There's a ton of paperwork.
-There's an expectation that you'll work for free. I've been asked multiple times to complete certain paperwork on my own time. I've also been asked to come in early, and been asked to stay late to meet with my center director. This is an hourly position and you're paid by the hour, so they cannot require you to work without compensation like that. But they "ask" you to do it all the time and there's a clear expectation that you will.
-Given that you're "individually" tutoring 3 students at once, the compensation isn't really commensurate.
