Pros

Some of the most brilliant people I have ever worked with. With all the things wrong these people really know how to work well together and keep pushing on. Almost always guaranteed 40 +hours a week. Insurance and benefits are ok There is a shift differential. The skills you learn here is wide range and looks great on a resume. Great extra holiday time off.

Cons

Promotions is a joke. Raises and promotions needs to be overhauled. Continued loss of skilled employees because of this. Be prepared to have your work/life taken off balance. Every year's benefits cost more and company continues to contribute less. Any promotion or raises from the previous year basically counter balances this. Even if you work your butt off and out perform on their non-sense metrics that you are held to. Reviews are based on just non-sense. Things that are out of your control will always haunt you when they do them. Cut back on 401k contributions. No training. All on the job and learn as you go. No bonus of any kind beside over time. The most skilled and valuable employees continue to leave or get fired, which makes it hard to gain proper knowledge of the devices. Be prepared to spend time on your own to learn. Management have no interest in personal growth. Constant favoritism and blatant ignorance of employee's struggle had almost killed the morale and started to become a toxic environment to work in. You will be pushed to work outside of your job description in all kinds of ways. Not in a good way. Human Resources had worked so many people over that everyone has no trust in them. Company finally did a company wide survey for the first time only to find how truly dissatisfied most employees are. Complains will fall on management's deaf ears and can even get you fired. No direction. Everything the company has done is only reactive. When the company actually tries to compensate they always miss the mark. If you want to work in another area and somehow do get the position. Be prepared to do both jobs. The previous job and the one you got moved to. This is for the fact that there aren't enough people to do the jobs individually.

Pros

*Product line is amazing and unique. *The company allows employees to be off every other Friday. *Compensation was reasonable for my skill level.

Cons

*I enjoyed working with many of the people at CAE, as we all learned to accept the negatives with the overall mission of the company ... saving people's live with our product. However, I often felt that the company message expressed to me by my direct executive manager, "behind closed doors," was not the same as the message stated on the company website. It was not unusual for my executive manager to talk negatively about company performance and other managers at all levels. This created an environment that was uncomfortable at times and lacked trust. *HR runs the company! After a few months of working there, I was warned by a manager that the HR Group Leader is the kingpin who can spin the truth anyway that he pleases for either your benefit or your demise. This perception is apparently shared by many because employees are generally afraid to express their concerns to HR, in fear that somehow it will come back to haunt them in the future. *Training on the computer system is poor. Management has the "figure it out yourself" mentality, which oftentimes equates to errors in the inventory and accounting system, as well as long hours of troubleshooting. *Company morale is low. While working at this company, I have seen many good employees fired. Back when this company was METI, I was told that turnover was rare; however, employees now come to work afraid of whether they are the next to lose their job. Management seems to hire more than necessary when working on a large project, and then layoff as soon as the project is over. Additionally, HR and executive management prefer to fire instead of coach, which can be costly for the company. This is not good for job stability. *There are no formalized policies and procedures for any department, which makes it difficult to train others with the high turnover, leading to unnecessary errors and long hours trying to "figure things out." Overall, this was an experience that I am glad I had, as I know that it will improve my skills and outlook through my career. Sometimes you need to experience the bad in order to know what good looks like!
