Chances to be involved at the early stage of ideation If you're lucky enough to be hired by a nice manager, you'll receive great coaching. (people management skills are variable) Credits for traning every year
Cons
Politics are all over the place, creating a toxic work environment when you don't have the same vision of some key people with high influence. Lack of talent recognition, just because higher management level do not understand what is required for modern software development. Overtime is perceived as demonstration of dedication for management position. Even if you are not encourage to do it, not doing so will greatly reduce your popularity and chances to be promoted. Promotions are often given based on Highest Paid Person Opinion and friends, as opposed to talent.
