Typically can find a couple units where you can make some great friends

Cons

Pay cuts, firing seasoned employees, management micro manages and bullies, I’ve seen people let go because they were “bad for the environment” cut everyone’s pay by $10 an hour. Will bully you into either quitting or firing you if they don’t like you, but managers friends can break all the rules

Pros

Plenty of units who consistently need extra nursing assistants and HUCs. Desperate units will give you an extra $8.75 an hour (in blocks of 4 hours each) if you work above your status

Cons

Disgusting pay "policies" such as if you are late or leave early on any extra shift you will lose all bonuses that week. If you are not liked they will find a way to get rid of you unless you know how to divert the problems. Some floors treat support nursing as inferior and worthless. If you want an administration job you literally have to wait until the whole succession retires or dies off.
