Pros

Nice office in a good location. Nice break room

Cons

Management solicits reviews here and people are pressured to be “Team Players” and are afraid of backlash. Run, don’t walk from this company.

Pros

Cafeteria is nice with a lot of beverage choices and snacks.

Cons

Managers are bullies. Their work from home policy is selective for favorite employees. Some do not come to work at all and some can not get even one day to work from home. All in the same department. Manager focused on devaluing the employees and breaking down them. They literally attack verbally and abuse on a daily basis.

CAPTRUST is on an Upward Slope

Pros

Short Version (TL;DR): I am glad I work here and look forward to continuing to work here. I feel secure in my position, people see & appreciate the work I do, I like my cubicle neighbors and I've had some great laughs while working here. CAPTRUST is on an upward slope and I plan to contribute to it along with my colleagues. Long Version: Individual Treatment: I am very glad how everyone in my department is comfortable speaking with one another, be it about work or life. My onboarding experience was smooth/great. The amount of collaboration, development (helping learn the broad skills needed for present and future roles/jobs) and willingness to help each other at CAPTRUST is more than what someone could ask for. I feel like an important part of CAPTRUST, with the direct work that I do truly mattering and being helpful. There is a ton of engaging work to be done which makes it all the easier to contribute and have others benefit along the way. Also, I am glad we are encouraged to take part in local volunteering activities, and we are paid during those hours. I am both surprised and pleased with how connected and supportive CAPTRUST is towards our local communities. Career Path: There are a multitude of career paths here, and I can clearly see how and where I can progress the longer I am at CAPTRUST. My colleagues all seem content with their salaries, but I'm sure no one would ever complain about receiving a raise. I see a great deal of happiness and motivation when people receive any applicable bonus based on the company's overall success during the period, and annual individual employee work performance-based raises. Personal and work achievements are announced throughout CAPTRUST which gives the company a comfortable and communal setting. At the beginning of the year, a significant number of employees received new titles and recognition awards for their individual or group project contribution during the past year, each person receiving a round of applause from 300+ fellow employees. It's very nice seeing this amount of praise and being a part of it. I look forward to walking up on that stage some day during a future company event myself. This is all achievable no matter your age or position. Managers: I feel the vast majority of CAPTRUST managers are intelligent, kind and trustworthy. These managers are people who truly respect who you are, and our senior management clearly has the best interests in mind for our clients and my colleagues. Their actions match our mission statement on a daily basis. Lastly, I feel like relatively all managers at CAPTRUST want you to succeed at your job and in life. There are certainly jobs out there where your boss does not care about you and just wants you to finish your work and do it right. That's not CAPTRUST. Proactive: Our IT and HR departments have really supported every individual at CAPTRUST during the COVID-19 quarantine. Everyone was issued work laptops and setup to work remotely far before the pandemic began. CAPTRUST mandated we work from home before the official quarantine was in effect to try and keep everyone safe and to help employees with children on school leave. I feel even more thankful about what we have at the CAPTRUST workplace now that we are working remotely. I look forward to going back and enjoying my time and work around others in person.

Cons

Short Version (TL;DR): CAPTRUST can feel socially tense sometimes. I believe that the starting wage for interns at CAPTRUST is too low. CAPTRUST is growing too fast and is having growing pains. It feels like some employees don't want to understand what other departments do. Long Version: -CAPTRUST can feel socially tense sometimes depending on your position. It seems like entry level workers are not as respected at CAPTRUST, socially and via wage. When I first joined CAPTRUST, I felt like a lot of people treated me more as an external asset than a colleague. While I was treated kindly, the work environment felt impersonal, like I was only there to meet certain expectations. This was not a long-term issue. -I wish there were more titles for interns to provide some interns with higher wages. I'm not confident that the hourly wage for interns at CAPTRUST is as competitive as other firms. -Within the past couple years, CAPTRUST has had a significant increase in the number of employees. With growth comes pros and cons. Ultimately, this has presented challenges to some departments and benefited others. Side Note: I believe CAPTRUST's mission statement, core values, protocol and ethics offers a strong platform towards any form of change. There is always going to be someone at CAPTRUST open to what you have to say.
