This was the first time in my career I left a place so quick and never experienced something like no other. Managers will put extra effort to find what you did wrong but no effort to teach you to prevent things from continuing going wrong. Bosses just tell you what you need to improve. Leaders tell you and train you to improve. That’s the definition of a great leader which I didn’t see after this. some excuses were that it was busy season so no one has time to teach you. If that’s the case, this should be considered before writing the performance review which it seems like it wasn’t. The reason still doesn’t make it fair not letting the person know what concerns you have and still waiting until performance reviews happen. Some say it would have been easier to help if you were in the office compare to others but im not, im remote and thats what they agree too when i was hired. It seems like they dont have the necessary skill to train and help remote workers but again it seems like its all our fault for the mistakes they mentioned. When discussing about the review, they admitted I did some good things but yet they still decided to keep the review the same. Said they cant change it but I notice you can appeal on their HR site. So they lied hoping you wouldnt know that. When some performance scores were questioned, it was ignored and as a result, I got a worse review than the last one from the same person!!! This made me feel I shouldn’t out speak my concern and that even tho they make you feel its up for discussion. In reality, it’s not and ultimately no change will be made where you just risk angering them further, lowering your review score. They mentioned i need to communicate more while remote but often I am ignored and end up making decisions on my own. again this shows lack of skillset managing remote workers. Also to put my camera on, but i do when either someone puts it on or mention they expect me to do so going on forward. This manager never set that expectation nor ever put their camera on either so I thought it was fine. If you really felt bothered enough to put it in review this is something you should have discussed with me. Lastly, it seems they expect everything to be perfect or you’re a failure. Where if you get 7/10 things correct for example, since its not 9/10 or 10/10 they assume you failed and have “no understanding of the subject.” Which was said in the review. IT was horrible. When I started out, this one IT rep was annoyed and had a attitude because i did not understand how to do tickets to the right department less than 2 days joining CBIZ. Had to adjust on working on the prostaff schedule weekly rather then getting all my client list ahead and getting info early. Kept receiving non motivating emails of not doing enough hours but felt I always contacted those individuals about hours. Managers sometimes blew things out of proportion when I mentioned i can start something for them in Wednesday instead of Tuesday. The next email they tend to cc director and partners and having them force me to start the work at their initial requested time. Managers as I listed the reasons before show perfect example of how they set you up to fail and not to succeed. Mentioned in my reviews i did not work enough hours during the weekend or in general during tax season and i should request more work. Someone who wants me to succeed and get the chance to have a good review would have asked me first. If they did, they would have known I actually did requested work constantly from the people you needed to request work from. But they rather assume and find ways to say something bad about me. All of this Lost my motivation to work with some managers since I felt i did try but they didn’t see otherwise.

Pros

Office culture is relaxed/friendly. People here love their jobs, as evidenced by the majority of staff staying over 10 years. Standard benefits, good insurance (if you can afford it).

Cons

Not a lot of growth opportunities. Corporate/HR expects workers to take on more responsibilities without any increases in salary - raises are rare.
