Pros

Lunch food is free so thats ok.

Cons

the owner is a narcissist, the president is a sycophant narcissist, and there is this whole side operation for mining bitcoin that seems more important than the storefront operation (computer-based training courses and student learning). The toxicity, employee emotional abuse and bitcoin mining shadiness eventually makes one wonder what the heck is really going on behind the scenes. Take a hard pass on any job offers, no matter how tempting. You know who also loves bitcoin? A lot of dark web criminals who do the unthinkable.

Pros

There are the common things like: - great benefits - flexible schedule - silly amount of PTO - phone/swag/food Some uncommon ones: - free lunch every day - press box or court side tickets to Duck Football, Duck Men’s Hoops, Duck Women’s Hoops, and Seattle Seahawks games - Tickets for the Broadway series at the Hult Center - Fridge full of ice cream But honestly those aren’t the reasons I loved it there ( though the free health insurance for my family and school teacher-esque days off were very, very nice). First of all, it has some of the best people I have ever met working there. I made lifelong friends who inspired me to be a better developer, teammate, and person. Secondly, it’s professional development is second to none. You are able to train daily and go to conferences that are pertinent to your field. They have a dedicated team to setting up learning paths that help guide you to your career goals. I benefited from this immensely. Finally, I got to work with a lot of fun new technologies and build some pretty cool applications. CBT is not afraid to try new things and that is great for anyone who wants to be in a place that they can explore emerging web and application technologies.

Cons

This one is always tough for me. I have had a lot of jobs and seen some really bad behavior. And company cultures. There were times when I was super frustrated and angry about decisions or process. CBT will try things and will change its mind quickly so you have to be prepared for that. But ultimately the reality is that I got angry at those times because I really cared and I loved it. It would be frustrated because we were so close to amazing in my mind so little things can sometimes be overly frustrating. Apathy was never an option. I know that there are a lot of negative reviews on this site, and those people had their reasons for those, but at the end of the day, my experience was that I was working for a fast paced, future facing company that is trying to do amazing things. Not everyone will agree, but every job I have ever held had people that loved it and others that hated it. I happened to love this one.
