Pros

CCC owns the industry and it's theirs to lose. High growth business that has done very well financially.

Cons

The product organization is run by politics and ELT members that have buddied up and if you're not in the good graces of these individuals, your career is at risk. Multiple re orgs in just a 6 month period all fueled by power plays from other executives. No one feels safe here and it distracts from doing quality work. This is a major culture issue that will not be resolved until and unless major action is taken.

The Products team has experienced significant organizational change over the past six months. We recognize this can be stressful, especially in the beginning. However, the overall feedback on the new organizational model has been exceedingly positive. Employees and leaders across the company have told us they appreciate the enhanced collaboration and clearer lines of communication. No company is perfect, but power plays are definitely not part of our culture! We have an open-door policy and welcome a conversation, please reach out to Alex Kewney or Johnny Nguyen to share.

Pros

Pay and benefits are decent. Other reps on the floor are generally good people even if they come and go. Women beware.

Cons

Over the past few years everything in tech support has turned into being all about politics. Solid work ethic, technical skill, and overall competence are all 2nd priority to pleasing the supervisors and managers. If you do not get buddy buddy with them, you will find yourself answering the phones until you leave. All management is competent at is politics and watching their own back. Doing their job is far from their first priority. The problems start at the top. If you ask the techs in Sioux Falls if they have met the executives they will tell you they haven't. Yet they will have all the time in the world for other departments, and the supervisors. Management of tech support has consistently failed to accomplish anything asked on any level by anyone on the floor. A manager will listen and then give every reason why nothing can be done about a problem. This has occurred multiple times and can be verified by multiple techs. The "turf wars" they have engaged in the past with other department managers have hamstrung almost anyone wanting to leave the department to try other opportunities. The supervisors are into high school level drama. They play favorites, have "pets", and will hype them over everyone else if an opportunity opens up for advancement. The result of this over the past several years has been many promotions that are questionable at best. The ones promoted are terrible at the job and burn out but stay because they pay is good. Morale has sunk, burnout is at an all time high and experienced techs are leaving the company in droves. Tech support in this location is neglected and has terrible management. It is the "red headed stepchild" of Sioux Falls.

Pros

possible bonus if you manage to stay employed till the payouts

Cons

most IT workers seemed to be overworked, scrambling to meet crazy deadlines, and juggling a lot of deliverables at the same time. in the process, they create crappy code which i guess is no surprise given the circumstance. hence starts all the finger pointing and mudslinging between team members, and between teams. there is no sense of direction from upper management or product management teams. dev teams are pretty much bullied into meeting the impossible deadlines. there is no talent pool, or even the number of resources available to meet the ridiculous demands from management. couldn't really understand if management is trying to squeeze the extra hours from employees and hence deliberately not hiring new employees, or if they were just unable to attract new employees.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. Your concerns are ours as we strive to understand your situation. As you know from your time here, our technology and IT teams are the backbone of innovation. CCC values are directly dependent on our ability to meet customer-driven deadlines, work collaboratively, and deliver high-quality software. It sounds like we missed the mark and specifically could have done a better job communicating with you on any of our business rationale explaining “why” certain decisions and/or deadlines were made. Though this wasn’t your experience, CCC recognizes the need for work-life balance. During our most recent employee survey, employees highlight this as an area of strength at CCC. We appreciate your feedback and are continuing to enhance our workplace for the talented employees who chose us and made us one of the top employers in Chicago by Forbes and Built in Chicago two years in a row.
