Pros

- Interesting projects - Flexibility of letting people work mostly from home (everyone has their own schedule) - Culture is friendly and welcoming - Mentorship program and CDM U training opportunities are outstanding - Opportunities to grow into several roles, including PM, technical lead, or other business roles

Cons

- Salary is below average for the industry. Some lower level staff (levels 1-2) are making more than levels 3+ due to inflation, yet salaries aren’t adjusted for the higher level staff. - Salary increases are extremely low. Even if your performance is high your raise will be pretty small. It’s upsetting because many people leave solely for this reason. - Your supervisor will be the supervisor of many people, and you all won’t necessarily be in the same team or working with your supervisor often, so it’s hard to get ahold of your supervisor in general

Pros

I love working with the people in my office. They are exceptional engineers and empathetic mentors. I've learned so much from my peers and have plenty of opportunities to work on projects that interest me.

Cons

There was a major leadership shift in the Jacksonville, FL office which has put a chill on that office's culture. Those folks seem to always work late and under stressful conditions. If you talk to upper management elsewhere in the company, they will quietly warn you about working with that office. I strongly recommend staying clear of it. It's a major pain-in-the-neck to get authorized to go to an industry conference, even if presenting. They usually cut back on the days you request, and then they ask you to enthusiastically recruit others to the firm. Last year's raises were pretty mediocre across the board. They gave everyone a bonus the year before as a publicity stunt for recruiting purposes. It seems they're recouping those costs this year.

Pros

Fantastic teams, great people, solid company leadership, super interesting work, solid compensation and benefits (except no sick time), flexible work options

Cons

Some policies and tools are quite clunky and outdated, if popular with the traditional engineering set, challenging to access creative communications folks for project work, lack of sick time separate from PTO (shocking in this day and age for a company that wants to attract more women and people of color)
