Pros

The best technical professionals in the country and over 20000 vendor partnerships. Despite the lagging economy we're still growing. Great management - it's clear that everyone is on the same team, but some people happen to have direct reports and are responsible for others' performance and growth. Unlimited possibilities - if one were to jump from engineering to project management to somewhere else the opportunity is there, just put it in your Individual Development Plan with your manager.

Cons

The strong commitment to customer satisfaction can really leave an engineer wanting better work/life balance. As a young guy it's not TOO bad but looking down the road to a family and children I'm not sure I could keep doing it even with an understanding spouse. Weekend cuts, late-night cuts, general bending over backwards for clients and what I think are unreasonable expectations of "reachability" on my "off hours" can really take their toll.

Pros

They're flexible when it comes to your schedule. Getting to work from home is nice. Vendors often provide free food or after hours events. When I first started I would have said the people and the atmosphere. It kept me coming to work everyday. Some of the people are still around, but the atmosphere has become toxic.

Cons

Co-worker turnover is very high. It used to be fairly new people quitting, but lately more tenured people have been jumping ship too. There is more emphasis on numbers and metrics than the welfare of employees and customers.

Pros

Building a network of collegues that will leave CDW and go elsewhere has it's benefits in the long run when you leave (or at let go).

Cons

Poor management, poor compensation, dial for dollars mentality, CDW first, then customer, poor integration of departments, advanced technologies department doesn't fit the CDW model. Management's unwillingness to change the internal processes to compensate for different business models (i.e. Berbee acquisition - services() makes it difficult to provide good customer service.
