Pros

Working 4x10s, benefits, free parking, it’s a good place to get your first leadership opportunity, lots of food.

Cons

If you're an experienced leader, this organization could seriously jeopardize your career. There are frequent random demotions and terminations, often with little to no guidance. You might find that your fellow leaders are more interested in undermining each other than supporting one another. Many leaders here seek counseling to cope with the stress of the environment. Conversations are often disingenuous, with a lot of behind-the-back gossip. Ambitious individuals may steamroll you in their pursuit of promotions, and you’ll find that fitting into a specific “clique” is essential for advancement. Additionally, the company appears to be struggling financially. Poor treatment of providers is a significant issue. I hear genuine complaints from providers daily, and it seems nearly impossible to find a satisfied one. The workplace is chaotic, lacking standard procedures, and the executive leadership often seems utterly incompetent. My strong recommendation is to seek opportunities elsewhere. I had my doubts during the interview process when I encountered negative reviews, and I was told those came from disgruntled employees. However, within just six months of joining, I understood exactly where those comments were coming from. This organization has a tarnished reputation in the community, making it challenging to find employment elsewhere after working here, which is why many leaders end up staying for an extended period despite their dissatisfaction. In my brief time here, I've witnessed more demotions and firings than I have at any other place. One moment you feel secure, and the next, you could find yourself in the CEO’s sights for no apparent reason. It's surprising how many people support the CEO without truly working alongside him. Recently, I even heard whispers of potential unionization among the leaders here—something I didn't know was even possible. This highlights just how dire the situation has become. Lastly, I’ve heard of several instances where someone went on a leave or a sabbatical and when they came back, the rug was pulled from under them. Other than that, it’s a fun place. Btw, I’m not disgruntled nor bitter. Im going to work after this with a smile on my face.

Pros

- 6 weeks of PTO per year. - Solid starting salary. - Most front-line and low-level employees genuinely care about the work they are doing and the mission they support.

Cons

- Serious lack of consistency in management. - 3% cap on annual raises. Supervisors tell you you can get more, but it is very rarely approved. - No clear job descriptions, duties, or success criteria. - Senior management is not honest.

Pros

The mission of CHAS is great and I felt that I could really help members of my community. Great to have a pharmacy and behavioral health services on site. Qualifies for federal loan repayment. Benefits are decent.

Cons

Providers are pushed to see complicated patients, well-child visits, and procedures in short appointment times, and are not given much autonomy in schedule management. Unequal consequences doled out/favoritism. Some members of management have minimal training and really don’t understand clinic-level processes and needs. National holidays are taken out of PTO bank rather than paid. Organization does not even offer in person exit interviews for employees.
