Pros

Benefits and perks are probably the only thing is has going for it

Cons

Management is dictated by Korea. Managers are weak and only look out for themselves. Prepare to work long hours with crappy pay. While there is some autonomy, all major decisions are made by Korea.

Pros

-Historically decent benefits, but have been downgraded substantially this calendar year -Easy job offer due to lack of work experience at company -Nice office in Downtown Los Angeles with plenty of food options if you're ever able to take a lunch

Cons

I've worked for under a year at CJ America, the headquarters located in Downtown Los Angeles, but realized how terrible of a company it is just a few weeks into employment -Severe lack of experience/expertise at all levels of the company with the team in charge of learning and development solely focused on acclimating people to the Korean workplace culture -Absolutely no culture or diversity, and the few people that bring any semblance are gone within a few months -Abusive workplace culture full of office politics with the sounds of the C-Suite/middle management yelling at supervisors/employees easily audible in certain meeting rooms and unsavory harassment of female employees often ignored both in office and during happy hours -Incredible amounts of turnover, particularly anyone remotely intelligent or talented I worked with, which exacerbates the aforementioned lack of expertise -Incredibly inept/unfriendly HR team/management, with any knowledgeable and decent team members leaving within my short time here -Zero leadership and organization, which makes it seem more like a start-up on the brink of failure rather than a company -Discrimination as non-Koreans or non-native Korean speakers have little opportunity to move past a certain point in the company regardless of company messaging -Outdated software/programs that only serve to intensify the amount of bureaucracy at the company (the one IT person is genuinely helpful though) I'm trying my hardest to even make it to six months before resigning, let alone a year. I've worked in many different positions in corporate offices, start-ups, non-profits, etc., yet this company is by far the worst of them all. Please do not waste your time here, as you will not learn great practices, you will not grow, you will not be paid past market rate, and you will be severely overworked due to this company's gross incompetence across all levels and departments. Nobody is happy here.
