Pros

Salary is generally above market. However it’s a bait and switch tactic because nothing else about the job is how you’re told it will be. It’s literally the only thing they have to lure people in.

Cons

There’s many reasons why they can’t retain their claims staff. 1. Zero training. There’s no formal training program. You’ll be assigned a “buddy” for “training and questions.” Your buddy won’t have time to help you because they’re likely handling 50-75% more claims than what you’re told is the “target” in your interview and they are not given any time off new reports to actually train you. 2. Zero support from management. Expect to be gaslight if you express concern or frustration. They know why they can’t keep people but choose to not address it. 3. Technology is not up to date. You will be repeating the same task in multiple systems to do your job because the company has refused to invest in updating their systems. They say it’s too costly but then refuse to look at how much the human inefficiency is costing. 4. They will slam your desk. As a new hire, you get the privilege of inheriting everyone else’s problems. Your claims will likely have gone through at least two other hands first. These files will be in varying degrees of disarray, some due to incompetence and others due to the fact that management slammed the person behind you and they got fed up and left. Don’t expect any support here, either.

Rough Place to Work

Pros

You will be challenged beyond your abilities, which will make you better if they don’t crush you. Pay is on the slightly higher end of the spectrum for Insurance.

Cons

Toxic culture. Constant upheaval at the executive level leading to repeat strategy and cultural changes, usually for the worse. AVP and VP levels are pitted against each other, leading to unnecessary infighting and self sabotage.

Pros

Benefits are standard Genourous match to 401k total of 17% of salary with your 6% match Health insurance is your typical high deductible plan Compensation is standard bonus is okay.

Cons

The management team's behavior is concerning as they frequently fail to take responsibility for their actions, resulting in an unprofessional work environment. The company culture can sometimes feel exclusionary, with evidence of favoritism towards certain employees. Political correctness is not a priority, and the "good ol boy" atmosphere can create discomfort for some team members. In addition, the use of outdated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) systems and the promotion of individuals who lack fundamental leadership skills is alarming. Employees are unfairly reprimanded for issues outside of their control, and certain managers have adopted a leadership style that relies on intimidation tactics, rather than positive reinforcement.
