Pros

There are some very talented people who work at CNH who battle against bureaucracy and poor management to achieve some amazing things. The company is large and geographically diverse and if you are willing to travel and move there are many opportunities for career growth.

Cons

CNH is a top heavy in its management structure and as a result it is very bureaucratic and sometimes impossible to get tings done. Organizational change is very slow - at least change that would seem to benefit the business. There is constant change but it seems to be done mainly for political reasons and not to benefit the company. The company is very rigid in its policies which ca make new business processes hard to implement. The IT organization is a joke. The biggest disadvantage is that it is owned by FIAT and the majority of the decision making machinery has been located in Italy. Basically this is limiting to career advancement in senior positions unless ou have some sort of "Italian connection".

Pros

Nice place to work, some times the days are long. But it evens out with Comp days and December shut down.

Cons

Limited fields to move in finance as the operations are scattered all over greater Chicago area.

Pros

Was relocated when I joined CNH -- they have the best relo package that I've seen at similar levels. 401K match 70% of the first 10% contributed plus 5% of salary regardless of employee contribution. Pay is pretty decent, and bonus is fairly generous. Opportunities for talented people to advance if you are willing to move around. Also reimburse quite a bit for educational expenses.

Cons

Keep your head down, they laid off 13% of their salaried staff in 2009. Aside from that, I have never worked anywhere that they let people go as frequently as they do here. I'm not saying that I would have voted to keep many of those folks, but when every fifth or sixth Monday there's an organizational announcement, there's little sense of continuity. One of the consequences of the turnover is that some of us now do the jobs that 4 people used to Incoherent management strategy; lot's of flavors of the month. Not a tremendous amount of fact-based decision-making. Lots of old Ford and GM guys.
