Pros

vacation time is very generous. Benefits are generous, as well. Doing something you love everyday is preiceless. Working in such close quarters you develop great friends-- and enemies. Lots of bright, attractive people to work with.

Cons

The people are often back-stabbing climbers. Management is often vague and/or contradicting. People are human and make mistakes.

Pros

Can't say anything positive about the last year. Probably only one, I am still employed.

Cons

Compensation is lower than what many other tech companies in the Ottawa area offer. Because of that, it can be difficult to attract and keep strong engineers. Over time this has affected the overall engineering quality. In some teams the development standards and sense of technical ownership are not as strong as they could be, which sometimes leads to code that is harder to maintain in the long run. Improving compensation and strengthening hiring standards would likely help bring in and retain stronger talent.
