Pros

Working in a broadcast field means that for the most part you do not take your work home with you. The people who work there are, for the most part, passionate about what they do and committed to making CNN the best it can be. CNN offers generous benefits and PTO.

Cons

CNN is run in a very top down manner, meaning if someone is above you in the company hierarchy, they usually get their way regardless of whether they are making the right decision or not. This probably applies to many large companies and not just CNN. CNN's salaries are on the low side.

Pros

Very generous PTO, if you're lucky to be with a group that allows you to use it.

Cons

Low pay. Hard to move up in jobs. Plenty of people move up based on personality and yet they have no idea what they're doing. They call and ask asinine questions like are they supposed to a mic on a live guest in the field. The company obviously thought you were qualified enough to be a field producer. You tell me.

Pros

Working with some of the best in the business

Cons

Easy to get stuck in a place unless you continuously take own initiative to cross train, salaries not as competitive as some other networks and considering the HQ is in Atlanta, not much else to do in this city but work for Turner/CNN
