      Confused Rollout of Comp Plan

      Pros

      They are a good company for insurance in both personal and business. The most important thing is good customer service for which they excel.

      Cons

      The rollout of the new Sales Comp plan last spring was chaotic and confused. For newer reps who had not developed a book of business yet, the new plan was a recipe for failure. Without enough business to earn a descent living, I ended up taking another job to survive and the sign on bonus and monthly allowance was not enough. I left there and months later one of the allowances of $4000 was requested back from me. Working there cost me money.

      Pros

      Management up to manager level is professional and trustworthy. Most fellow employees at my level are trustworthy and as dedicated as can be in this environment.

      Cons

      Favoritism out ways dedication. There is no reward for years of service with stellar reviews. Age seems to be an alarming new factor for seasoned professionals at county.

      Control of schedule, some marketing support and office support

      Cons

      New commission schedule is punitive. How much you make on home/auto insurance is dependent on how much life insurance you write. You will hit capacity limits and find it difficult to grow which will cause your commission to be cut by 30-40%. Country could not grow thru building the agency force directly so they are pushing that down on the independent reps.
