Pros

Nice co-workers who have good Midwestern work ethic and values.

Cons

Soul crushing control over daily work from leadership. I hear my co-workers say they are afraid to speak up.

Pros

Very nice management that are not overbearing. Opportunity to move around in the company. Helpful coworkers who are willing to do many things to help you. Stable schedule.

Cons

The claim reps don't just handle claims they are required to spend 2 hours at least of their day to take inbound service and FNOL calls. Service calls should be kept to customer service and FNOL should be kept to the loss reporting unit. At times the call volume is so high you can not get any work done. If you get a FNOL claim you are required to assign the claim to yourself- even if you've already had several claims assigned to you that day. Reps have been getting 5-10+ claims on FNOL not including claims assigned to you. Answering service calls feel like you work as a customer service rep- or secretary...answering questions on random claims and talking to medical providers or angry customers that you have no idea what is going on. It creates more work that aren't relevant to the job or our claims and makes it hard to get things done. It frustrates everyone.

Pros

Country Financial is a solid company. They are very conservative with their investing so they have very regular returns. It is a mutual company, which means its shareholders are its policy holders. They have good products and they are honest when it comes to claims They initially pay a salary so that's helpful in the beginning Everyone is pretty cordial

Cons

From the reps point of view. It is exceedingly difficult, labor intensive and time consuming to get practically anything closed. Underwriting is so very careful it's very easy to lose a client with all the hoops you have to jump through. It's almost ridiculous. Commissions are slow in coming. There is no good accounting system to know when or what you'll be paid, and when you leave as an employee rep your commissions stop. The reps have a fantastic amount of pressure applied to them at all times, right from the beginning and it never lets up. The benchmark system is honestly pretty much regarded by everyone as a joke. Finally you are on your own to try to figure anything out, and held responsible for any mistakes. There are so many different companies within Country it's extremely difficult to navigate and know who to talk to.
