Pros

Training - you'll get good training on auto/home, life, LTC, disability products (all Country products) If you can make it here 2 years you know you can make it on your own as an independent agent.

Cons

- training only on Country products - limited commercial access and training - low commissions and no contingency bonuses at year end for profitability - no renewals until you are "career" agent - they assign accounts from former agents to new hires so they never pay the new hires any commission on them (most new hires are gone within a year) - even as a career agent they can terminate your contract for any reason they want under the guise of "you're not providing financial security" to your clients. So if you build up a large book and want to relax and collect renewals, think again! At Country you are building THEIR business, not YOURS.

Pros

Gets you started in the business. Gets you your securities licensing so your ready for a real firm with real financial products, not the goofy pseudo-managed accounts these guys offer. You really aren't doing your clients any justice with the lack of financial products here!

Cons

Cut and dried benchmarks , instead of sliding scale depending on production. You can have a mind blowing month in auto and home and miss one product in life or financial and they will dock you $1000.

Pros

If you do not have a job, Country is a good job.

Cons

There is so much favoritism with this company. Books of business are awarded to the "favorites" I agree with another reviewer who stated you are misled during interviews. Country will pay 1/2 of your marketing expenses however during the interview, you are led to believe your investment is $300 or so...It is more than double that PER MONTH!. You are also led to believe that you have a system and products that are so much superior to other companies which is not the case. Country does make you get 200 names of your "warm" market which is friends and family. You will go throuhg a training program that is self study and work at the same time. HONESTLY, YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK 12 HOURS A DAY TO GET ALL OF THE TRAINING CLASSES DONE AND MEET YOUR BENCKMARKS. If you do not meet the "bechmarks" you will be docked in base pay then fired without question and your book will go to the favorite, not distributed evenly to all of the hard working agents .
