Pros

Pay is on a average to better scale, benefits are good, Workplace is in downtown.

Cons

Absolutely No Work/life balance & don't expect its existence in IT. You're expected to be available 24x7 irrespective of your On-Call Status. No Processes exists and Outdated Procedures making it a very unsuitable Workplace for any one with a family. Fear & Intimidation are constantly being used in IT which completely turns down anyone's Morale. If you have a senior set of skills, or value your opinion being heard; stay as far away from here as possible. No Involvement from the Senior Management who are based out of Canada and the front line management continue to use bad culture to get things done and no escalation path exists.

Pros

Nothing you can't find at another employer if you look hard enough.

Cons

If you have a senior set of skills, or value your opinion being heard; stay as far away from here as possible. Remember you read this if you decide to take the job anyway, and not truly listen to the bad reviews, and understand why the star rating on here is less than 3. There are good reasons for that! If you appreciate a strong work/life balance, do not take a position here. You will have issues on the home front in a very short period of time! Managers have been trained to remind you that it's your fault, not their fault.

Pros

There aren't many positive things about this company beyond the great people in the trenches at the Minneapolis office. The CIO is already sending messages to the staff communicating how tight 2016 will be, in other words, work harder for no salary increase or bonus pay!

Cons

Poor leadership at senior management level makes successful performance difficult at best. The mantra is do more with less and don't make any mistakes while you are working 10 - 14 hour days or you will have to meet with the CIO to explain why you made the mistake. Consequence Leadership is the newest management program to improve employee performance, there are positive and negative consequences to our performance. The annual performance review process is very subjective and communicated to the employee in a letter from HR. Everyone, no matter the job you were hired into, is required to be a conductor and work the rail yard and mistakes in the rail yard can cause you to lose the job you were hired to do. There is no career path and HR keeps the pay ranges secret even from managers and good luck getting information about railroad retirement benefits.
