Great Mid-Level Management - Senior Folks Have Lost Touch

Pros

Great local management, incredible opportunity to work with large scale business partners and high level of cross-functional training.

Cons

Poor work life balance, culture has become one that 80+ hour work weeks and weekend work are now expectations rather than exceptions. Something to consider when comparing salaries to those organizations with more work life balance. What have you done for me lately is the new mantra - little appreciation for how thin employees are being spread.

Pros

Flexible hours, good colleague relationships. Got trained while working here. Pleasant working environment. Compensation and benefits were good. Big well recognized company.

Cons

low employee morale, bureaucratic organization, limited career advancement opportunities, a lot of smart people leaving the company, losing talent, HQ moved away from downtown.

-Day to day job was enjoyable for the most part -Compensation and benefits were good -Decent amount of options career-wise -Lots of good hardworking folks

Cons

-Comically dysfunctional and top heavy management team -Frequent power-tripping by managers -Promotions based on how well you play the game -Business and operations plans change on a week-by-week basis or worse -Culture of fear and intimidation from upper management (supervisors unfortunately stuck in the middle) -Company will tell you what you want to hear and then do the exact opposite -Only one goal: raise stock price at all costs (layoffs, safety, work/life balance, training etc) -Worthless union leadership -Awful employee morale
