Ineffective management and poor benefits are major issues

Pros

There are no pros to working here, just ask anyone who does.

Cons

Ineffective management. Bad and expensive health insurance. No 401k. Really bad cafeteria food. Lame vacation plan. When I meet other employees for the first time, some of the first things they say is this place sucks and I hate it here. I couldn't agree with them more. The CEO walks around the building mumbling derogatory things at you under his breath, and I don't think the management could find their way out of a wet paper bag. Their computer systems go down constantly wreaking havoc on the employees. Super stressful sweatshop kind of place. The only thing that I can recommend is that you stay away from this company.

Supportive team but lacking in management effectiveness

Pros

Great easy going team and place to work. Work isn't too difficult, and management for the most part supporst you. As long as things go according to plan that is. Decent pay.

Cons

Management refuses to learn further to know simple technologies and is delusional about how much work they are giving people at times. 401k is not present and the pension that they do give isn't near what you could receive if you invested the mandatory percentage into a 401k. sure they have a 457b but its no match and the mandatory % eats up at that

Pros

Most people and the culture is laid back. Great sense of community at the broader company level.

Cons

Manager was an extreme micro manager, every single day. Training was horrible. Cultural and linguistic barrier made it impossible to connect with the manager. Expectation was to be “an individual thinker” but when trying to innovate with Python etc. received major pushback. Was a brand new analyst and was expected to perform and be as knowledgeable as the senior analysts. Pay was bad too. I literally left to another firm immediately making twice what I was making at CPS. Holiday bonus was a $100 gift card to HEB. No 401K match when I was there.
