Pros

This is a review of CSC Philippines (Manila). CSC is very good for new employees trying to get into programmer. The company has access to its own comprehensive online library with topics ranging from programming to management. It also reimburses certification costs (that is, if you pass) and usually has training programs every year. My advise is for new comers to actively seek out employment with CSC and try to fast track your career. Learn as much as you can (cobol, pega, java, dialogue, etc). If you are a mid-level programmer with more than 3 years experience, I suggest you look for opportunities elsewhere. In fact, if you've got 3 years your best bet is to try and seek out employment in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Cons

The past year 2016 saw CSC management (world wide except very very few divisions) freeze all fringe benefits. There was no midyear bonuses, no Christmas party, no extra whatsoever. The reason? It was/is trying to pad up its financial in preparation of its HP acquisition. Now obviously this sucks especially for its own employees. Your experience with CSC would also vary greatly with the client. Just like any IT outsourcing firm (IBM, Accenture), where you end up and what project you end up with will most likely determine how fruitful you'll stay is with CSC. Unfortunately CSC's only got 1 big client in Manila (technically two but the other one brings in peanuts to the revenue), as such you're pretty much stuck to that client's particular brand of IT (to be fair the client is a good MNC and has best practices)
