Pros

Flexible work schedule. Employees are given discretions on how to manage their workload.

Cons

Processes are not well-structured. Poor documentation. Constantly fire-fighting. Overemphasis on cost reduction rather than improving the work processes and delivering value to customers.

Pros

Laid back atmosphere, very flexible

Cons

Not very challenging. The area I was in didn't really seem interested in growing their technical competence. This attitude fostered a culture of developers right out of college or on their way to retirement.

Pros

Wide ranging knowledge sources but scattered in different repositories, many opportunities to form good working relationships with colleagues, culture is mostly cooperative.

Cons

Management lacks clear vision of the future, opportunities to advance are difficult to win, frequently there are no annual salary increases, company offloads cost of phone & internet to staff who work from home offices, management is not particularly employee friendly.
