Pros

CSC, within its Federal Consulting Practice, offers a fantastic work-life balance, access to industry leading Portal technology, Computer-Based and Classroom education and training, and the ability to chose from a wide variety of career choices. Management is effective at communicating events, has effective promotion processes in place, and provides fair compensation for its employees.

Cons

CSC, though a large global technology firm, can stand for "CSC-Collection of Small Companies". This means that there is not one uniform CSC. An example of this is I work for a 1000 person consulting practices within CSC that I would be the farm on that the other 92,000 other employees don't know we exist. Likewise, most if not all of our 1,000 consultants wouldn't be able to effectively tell someone the breadthe of offerings CSC writ large can offer.

Pros

A person can earn a decent wage at CSC depending on the division and project that you might be working on and depending on the project you are on either no real micro-manager or micro-managed so something for everyone.

Cons

Insincere management from the standpoint that they may tell you one thing and do something completely different, an example would be that job satisfaction not a big concern as long as you are doing your job and the client is not complaining about your performance. Real world skill advancement seems quiet limited. Unless it is just an absolute necessity for the project you are on and the client places a great deal of importance on it your real world training options are going to be limited.

Pros

If you can get into a good group/project, you may be able to survive for a while. If you have a good manager, you will have flexibility in work schedules and projects, but the "processes" are very difficult to work around.

Cons

The Federal Sector is not the place to be. There is no budget for training, conferences, certifications or any other form of technical advancement. You are on your own.
