Pros

CSX has an inspirational CEO who genuinely cares about customers, employees, and the community. The company offers great benefits, a solid tuition reimbursement program, wellness benefit, and some opportunities for hybrid work. The headquarters gym is excellent, and employees have access to free snacks, which is a nice perk.

Cons

Performance management and promotion opportunities are heavily influenced by favoritism. Career growth is very limited, if it exists at all. There's continuous pressure to do more with fewer resources, which can be exhausting. The work environment feels very stuffy, traditional, and not dynamic, making innovation and adaptability challenging.

Excellent Leadership and Development Opportunities: "CSX is an outstanding company that emphasizes growth and development. They provide a strong learning and development framework, including tuition assistance and online learning resources. The CEO is genuinely invested in employees’ well-being, showing exceptional care in tough times like Hurricane Helen. The supportive environment and collaborative culture make it a fantastic place to grow professionally. Community Focused and Employee-Centered: "What stands out most about CSX is the company’s commitment to both personal and professional development. Their learning and development team offers valuable resources like tuition assistance and online courses. The leadership is extraordinary, with a CEO who truly cares about employees, their families, and communities—especially during events like Hurricane Helen. I feel supported and valued at every level.

Cons

CSX is a large, established company, which can sometimes make it difficult to implement rapid changes. While there are excellent initiatives in place for employee development, it can take time for those changes to be fully integrated across all levels. But this is the same for any organization.
