Pros

An idiot can get hired... it's obvious when you work there. This is one of the Pros. All idiots apply to CSX you will be loved. ..

Cons

If you like working 16hr shifts or 12hr shifts and off on mon and tuesds for the next 20 years then this is the place for you. Don't believe the Safety nonsense they preach..it's bs. Work someone 16hr then tell them to be safe. If your tired your fired... true statement!!! If you think csx = God then this the place for you. Arrogance in abundance... wasted years of my life fooling with company. Don't believe me, try it for yourself... do some research for yourself... lay offs everywhere. Use to be a good company. ... POOR WORK ENVIRONMENT PLUS TERRIBLE TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION = CSX. I hope this company gets better or collapse like all the rest who thought they were untouchable...

Pros

Pay isn't bad if you can collect your claims

Cons

Have claims in dispute for years. Labor relations declines pay claims for jobs worked and money owed. If you are assigned to a job, pay is no big deal. If you are on a road extraboard, forget about it. They cheat you every chance they get, and if they claim they should not have paid you for a claim it comes out of your check $250 a paycheck. A trip rate of 300 miles is declined and you are paid 130 because your on an extra board, essentially losing $260 each trip. But you moved the train from point A to point B doesn't matter. You have to fight tooth and nail for what is owed to you, and it stays in dispute for years with no interest. Got paid a $200 claim in March 2016 for a dispute from February 2014, of course with 0 interest. We have 14 people furloughed right now and they are hiring 6 more. People on furlough have been there over a year. Installing inward facing cameras in locomotives to spy on you so you sit there with a camera staring you right in the face for 12 hours which can be monitored 24/7 live feed.
