Pros

The pay and tuition reimbursement up to $3500, decent benefits. Seniority and the union, it's honestly hard for me to come up with anything else that I see as a positive.

Cons

Very poor management, inability to move up in the company unless you are in with the right people regardless of education and abilities. Employees are not treated as assets or positives for the company and everyone mostly stays for the pay. Intimidation and good ol boy network is very strong here. There is no incentives to think outside the box status quo is what's expected and do not attempt to challenge long standing procedure's for lest you be accused of not being a team player. I work here currently but I desire to be challenged and promoted. If you desire higher than normal pay and not to be challenged in regards to your personal and professional development this is the place for you.

Pros

CSX has had some changes due to realignment lately but overall remains a solid company to work for. Benefits are at least equal to industry standards. Upward mobility possible in the right department, promotions generally come from within.

Cons

Some positions require a lot of hours, especially those in Transportation. Recent shake-ups give pause to long-term reliability as an employer.
