Pros

I cannot think of any pros other than good benefits. Some of the people you work with are good people, others are bad news.

Cons

CVS only wants the younger students that just graduated college so that they can pay them at a lower rate. They say you are salary, but pay you at an hourly rate. They keep adding more work to be done at the pharmacy level and give you less tech hours to be productive. It was a nightmare working for them. 14 hour shifts should not be legal.

Pros

Pay is decent. I can't think of any other Pros, so I'm just typing this to fill the minimum word requirement.

Cons

Probably the worst managers anyone could imagine, in Minnesota. They jerk you around and treat you like a child, not a professional. Verbal harassment by email and text message to get you to work more hours, with zero appreciation when you accommodate their demands. They must be TRYING to get people to quit and leave the company, so they don't stay long enough to get their bonuses or 401k match. The managers don't do their job of staffing the clinics and On-call days aren't truly "on-call". They are just days that you are guaranteed to work as a floater to any clinic in the Metro area. Terrible work environment in a tiny room with no windows. Providers work as janitor, cashier, RN, receptionist, lab technician, stocking inventory, and NP.

Pros

Flexible schedule, 3-4 days a week for FT

Cons

Patients do not respect NP's in the retail health role and are often verbally abusive and bullies. corporate puts more and more non clinical demands on NP's while reducing benefits and refusing to provide support. Clinicians work alone and must manage all aspect of the business including cleaning, ordering supplies, stocking and counting inventory, marketing, cleaning and much more. There is no administrative time built into the day. Patient volume is the main focus, but corporate creates unrealistic expectations by increasing workload and demand and creating obstacles. High turnover, low job satisfaction, Medical directors do not call back when you attempt to reach them for consult. Right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Company claims they have advancement opportunities, but restructures every few years resulting in layoffs and demotions. Expected to work every other weekend and take call one to two additional weekends every 6 weeks. Company makes claims such as employer of choice, or year of the practitioner and then backs it up by increasing demands and reducing support and benefits and going back on promises. Corporate does not take responsibility for bad decisions.
