Pros

The pay scale for a manager in training is better than some other companies pay their store managers. Other than that......well there is nothing good about the company

Cons

My first day of work I was put on the floor alone and had no register training to speak of. The shifts are crazy, i had to close to at 11pm and be back in to empty the truck at 4:30 am..........

Pros

401k benefits package ESPP flexible schedule fortune 500 company retirement package paid vacation unlimited sick leave good regional management fun work environment

Cons

There are a few cons to working for upper retail management. the main issue is the amount of time spent working, while the typical work week is 40 hours, many times you will spend 45 or more working on your own time. Personal life does take a back seat in these types of rolls.

Pros

Compensation, friends, and it's a job in a poor economy. Medical benefits are okay, but be warned that CVS outsources your benefits HR department overseas and they barely understand english.

Cons

Note, the S.California market is under different rules that other areas! Store Managers are being fired for having expired milk, must work 3 nights a week, reduced staff hours without reason (cause sales are up), heavy corporate mandates without support, and are now limited to a total of 4 keyed supervisors per normal houred store. Stressful! Job requires 6 days a week and about 10 hours a day without additional compensation... you must also sign a statement that you will be fired if you complain (aka sue) about this... as you should be doing your job within the 45 hours a week they technically require - which is impossible without the hours to staff properly.
