Pros

Decent discounts especially on cabelas/bass pro branded items.

You HAVE to push the club card, if not you get talked to even though the have club card outitter positions, at my location my former manager K. Barkman gave everyone in our department the vacation the ask for during the beginning of hunting season leaving me and a newbie to train on how to sell firearms and submit background checks as well as be available for the rest of the customer's in the hunting department. Regardless of pleading for help from the MOD and other department and literally crying in front of customers because I was stressed and 4 months post partum no help was given. I got fired because of a mistake I bought to their attention even though he repeatedly told me I wouldn't be fired.

Pros

Good discount... that's it. They offer a 50% discount on there product.

One of the worst leadership chains I've ever witnessed. I absolutely lost confidence and the abilities of the "leaders" in this company the first two weeks I was hired. Their training for AP staff was in computer moduels. Nobody to answer questions and if you do they'll look your history up and tell you, you took the training. Their investigators are a arrogant and will CC the entire chain of command if you messed up on a report to make themselves feel good that their boss sees how great they are. I asked the regional AP about some of the job details and he replied, "I don't know know, I know my job." The assistant manager was standing right next to me when this was said. I lost complete confidence in this company and would never work there again. These were just a few things of a long list. This company dosent know what they want from their AP and that's where stopped caring. I asked, asked and asked for training and was told that they didn't need someone to hold their hand.... that's cool, but when you're new to a store, you'd think you'd like to ensure your employees are comfortable with what to do. Each company has different standards and focuses. There own managers and team leaders have made similar comments about how they're treated and looking for a new position.

Cons

1) they treat you like a serf/slave 2) The top priority is pushing a credit card - they are a credit card company that sells sporting goods 3) managers are trained to be asshats 4) policies are counterproductive 5) customer service is the LAST thing in their list of priorities
