Pros

Cabelas has a great selection of outdoor products. Products that will pretty much fit in anyone's budget. I found that each department had many very qualified/educated employees who really enjoyed their positions*.

Cons

The turnover at my particular Cabelas was very high. I would attribute this to poor training, low wages. I like many of my fellow coworkers who have an extensive background and knowledge in the industry, we love passing our knowledge along to other employees and customers in order to help them make smart purchase choices. You would expect that knowledge would be appreciated and compensated accordingly, however this is not the case. Wether you're highly experienced or a total green newbie you'll be on the same pay scale for the most part. Not enough to make a living! Most employees will only stay long enough to take advantage of the discounts, especially once they've been there for a few months and see that Cabelas is not all it's cracked up to be as an employee.
