1) Specifically, I was not paid commissions due for sold and installed jobs that I considered due. The franchise owner has his own explanations, which were extremely biased in his favor and not at a fair/reasonable outcome. 2) This job is 100% commission based. I’m an experienced sales person and was receiving around $400-$500 a month which didn’t cover my gas money, my time, and efforts. 3) there is a trainer in place, who I continuously expressed my concerns about. This trainer needed training. She is rude and insulting and offensive. 4) The owner came up with a mentorship program to “assist “ me towards the end. This would have been a consideration earlier, but it was introduced too late for me to recover financially. By then I had drained my savings completely trying to keep up with the demands of this job. 5) There was a monthly sales meeting, in person, for FOUR HOURS. Anyone who knows sales, understands that an appropriate length of time for a sales meeting is 30-45 minutes. I tried speaking to the owner about my concern and he suggested that it’s ok if I wanted to stand up or walk around. No one wants to sit through a 4 hour meeting…especially when you’re on straight commission and not being compensated for their time. 6) Lastly, the sales designers are all expected to work a full day in the showroom, without compensation. This seems illegal somehow. Being on straight commission, if I’m not running leads, and my primary function of the day is to sit in the showroom and attend to walk in traffic and book appointment from callers…sounds like an hourly rate should be applied.
