Very good company with lots of very intelligent people working for the good of consumers of electricity in CA. Great benefits that exceed the majority of employers in any industry.

Cons

Higher level of political environment due to the Governor's responsibility to appoint its Board and the level of any impact of failures. Employees may get caught in the political fires within management

Pros

Individual contributors are great. I thoroughly enjoy my coworkers. Somewhat flexible hours with an alternative work schedule and work from home options offered to some teams. Great facility in Folsom with onsite cafe, gym, volleyball court, employee garden and nice walking path. Excellent benefit options with 401k matching.

Cons

Management puts a lot of pressure on employees to meet poor deadlines and then gets frustrated when deployments go "less-than-smooth". Decisions are often made solely on the basis of what sounds feasible, not what is actually feasible.
