Pros

Personal Development Connecting with hardworking and passionate individuals Benefits are nice which includes benefits for dependents as well.

Cons

Leadership is lacking experience and ride on others work. Although there is opportunity for development there is not enough time. The turnover is high because quality employees are not being valued or promoted. Typical promotions go those who deserve it least. Communication in the organization is lacking

- fantastic organization truly changing the world - employees are smart, friendly, driven and supportive - so many good mentors passionate about clean transportation - growing like crazy

- good salary for a non-profit, but doesn't match industry

Very Uneven Experience

Pros

- Really terrific mission with some truly dedicated and accomplished team members. - The organization is growing rapidly and will provide valuable learning experiences for younger staff and strong recognition for more advanced staff. - Warm and collegial atmosphere.

Cons

- CALSTART appears to be taking on work more rapidly than it can execute, resulting in heavy workloads. Time off was not great relative to how much work needs to be done. - Limited opportunities for advancement for low-mid level staff. Tendency to hire externally rather than promote internal candidates, with lots of rungs on the growth ladder that inhibit true development. - HR keeps changing policies and systems, which tend to be applied inconsistently and defensively.
