      Pros

      Very good experiences you learn a lots. Field work and everything, design work, all technical in terms of designing. good environments as well.

      Cons

      Politics, job holds, i had to wait 3 years just to get interviewed. other than that it's all good. i worked there for 3 years and there was no positions open.

      Pros

      Learned a lot about road and bridge construction and construction management. great job security, benefits, and retirement. Whoever complaints about California highways, should do some traveling around the country or other countries...our highways are in much better shape.

      Cons

      Management can't motivate or fire very small number of bad apples that don't want to work. However this is also common in some private companies.

      Pros

      Good place to work with good hearted people. Lots of employee camaraderie, helpful knowledgable coworkers. Very stable employment with good advancement possibility.

      Cons

      The effects of budget cuts trickle down to this level quite severely. The slow and plodding pace of working in a bureaucracy can at times be very frustrating.
