The Reality for Back-Office and Support Teams

Pros

The company provides stable work in the accounting field. My direct colleagues in the department are dedicated, hardworking, and supportive of one another.

Cons

The "People, Process, Profit" culture championed by leadership feels entirely disconnected from the reality for support teams. While Marcus Lemonis built his brand on empowering employees, that message doesn't translate to back-office functions like accounting, distribution, or customer support. There is a palpable sense that these departments are viewed as cost centers, not contributors. This is reinforced in company-wide town halls, where support functions are often mentioned as a dismissive afterthought. That message from the top trickles down and shapes the culture, leaving teams feeling overlooked and unimportant. Many of us worked diligently through the entire pandemic, processing payroll and keeping financial operations running without interruption while others were remote. Yet, that dedication has not been met with recognition. We have not had raises or bonuses in over two years, even as we process the numbers and see how other parts of the business are rewarded. Since a key, long-time executive in accounting & finance retired, there has been no one at the leadership level to advocate for our teams, and that absence is deeply felt. The leader's focus seems to have shifted to other ventures, and the core teams holding up the foundation of the company have been forgotten.
